Phosphorus is found in a lot of the soil in Florida. But if the ecosystem has too much nitrogen and phosphorus, it can hurt the air and water.

The pollution in Florida affects the seas, lakes, rivers, and streams along the coast, which is bad for the environment and people’s health.

Pollution

To put it simply, pollution is putting something into the environment that hurts it. This can be caused by pollution in the air, chemicals in the water, and too much trash in the environment.

Air pollution, land pollution, and water pollution are the three main types of pollution that hurt people’s health.

 How It Works

Living in a polluted area could harm your health in several ways. When people are exposed to pollution, their bodies take in harmful chemicals that hurt their main organ systems.

The World Bank says that air, land, and water pollution causes 16% of all deaths worldwide. That means 9 million people die too soon every year. This shouldn’t be a surprise since 91 percent of the world’s people live in places with high pollution levels.

It is estimated that the damage to health caused by air pollution alone will cost $5,7 trillion, or 4.8% of the world’s GDP.

Pollution of the air can happen both inside and outside of the home. Forty percent of the world’s population burns wood inside their energy homes, making them dirty. On the other hand, most outdoor air pollution comes from industry,

farming, and making energy. Both types of air pollution release harmful chemicals into the air, such as volatile organic compounds, methane, and carbon monoxide. When a person breathes, these chemicals get into their bloodstream, and if exposed to them for a long time, they can hurt their respiratory, cardiovascular, and nervous systems.

Big City Pollution

In the same way, being around chemicals at trash dumps and landfills is bad for your health.

Cancer, heart problems, lung damage, and babies born too soon have all been linked to living near a garbage dump. People who live near a landfill are 34 percent more likely to die from lung cancer, 30 percent more likely to die from respiratory disease, and 12

percent more likely to have developmental problems than people who live further away.

Like air pollution, water pollution is very bad for your health. Around the world, there are 2.2 billion people who don’t have access to safe drinking water. Because of this, about 300,000 children under the age of five die yearly from diseases caused by dirty water.

Even where people can get clean water, pollution from industry and agriculture puts people’s health at risk. Some examples of contaminants are lead, arsenic, and pesticides. Lead has been linked to neurodevelopmental problems and Parkinson’s disease in children, arsenic has been linked to cancer, and pesticides have been linked to neurodevelopmental problems and Parkinson’s disease.

We have been building canals, levees, dikes, dams, and reservoirs for more than a hundred years to get the right amount of clean, fresh water to the right places at the right time.

The bog has been cleaned up. We’ve moved and changed the course of big rivers, and we’ve spent billions of dollars moving a lot of water from one place to another.

Florida Air Pollution

Reducing pollution in the air is important for both human health and the environment’s health. The respiratory and cardiovascular systems are especially at risk when the air quality is bad.Pollution can also hurt plants and buildings, and smoke or haze can make it hard to see.

The Water In Florida Is Dirty

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection looked at only 20% of the state’s river miles and found that 53% of them were polluted. FDEP looked at 54 percent of the lake and reservoir acres and found that 82 percent of them were hurt by pollution.

Doesn’t this seem a lot less fun? Because pollution is worsening, many kids now live much closer to garbage dumps than playgrounds or fields. Because of this, young children are exposed to chemicals that are bad for their health.
